I stayed at the hotel for one night during my son's wedding. The room was enormous, really clean, and had a very comfortable bed. However, I found it a bit small, dark, and missed having a table and chairs for drinks. The service was lovely with great first impressions on arrival, but I never heard back after leaving my contact details. The location was excellent, near local restaurants and within walking distance of Princes Street. The dining experience was exceptional, especially the breakfast served by Jean and Pauline, who were a ray of sunshine. I particularly enjoyed the facilities available during my stay.

When I arrived in the evening, the room was arctically cold and took a good 45 minutes to warm up to a reasonable temperature. Despite not meeting my expectations at first, the room turned out to be beautiful and very spacious, thankfully without any terrible smells. The hotel staff were friendly and professional, making my stay pleasant. The location was great for exploring Edinburgh and had easy access to the city. The dining experience was excellent with a wide variety of choices. The hotel facilities were accommodating, with additional services like dry cleaning, laundry, a welcome drink, and even pet amenities available.
